Field visits: Developing a participatory approach

Farm days will act as the main tool for the dissemination of project outputs among farmer communities in each country. Farm days will be held in each country participating to the Cropping systems activities, once per year if possible to enable farmers, extension services, researchers and stakeholders involved in WPs to share the skills, information, and transfer knowledge generated with neighboring (non-participating) farmers and other stakeholders. These farm days will allow transfer to farmers and extension services of innovative IPM solutions and also innovative tactics.
Farm field days will be the opportunity to develop a participatory training. These trainings will enable:
- To train farmers, extension services, advisors and scientists in advanced approaches and tools derived from the project;
- To have some inputs from the field visitors upon the feasibility of the exposed measures, the IPM solutions or some questions at the research community.
A common approach on the content and organisation will be developed. The content will focus on current agronomic questions and research results of PURE. Farm day’s visits will be organized with participatory methodology and take stock of the pilot processes managing co-innovation.
